Rain Fails to Dampen Spirits at First Distribution’s Annual Durban Golf Day

The weather did its best to put a damper on proceedings but ultimately high spirits prevailed at First Distribution’s Annual Durban Golf Day, held at the Durban Country Club on the 15th of November 2013.durban_country_club_thumb_01

Consistent rain ensured that umbrellas and raincoats were the order of the day, but despite the damp, the competition burned bright on the golf course with the format being a four-ball alliance.

Demonstrating great all-weather ability, the following group came in victors with a low score of 82:

Anthony da Silva from TCM
Kelvin Wetherill  from First Tech
Craig Zieseniss from Datacentrix
Lourens Prinsloo from VMWare

Golf day participants were at least able to get indoors and away from the elements when attending the post-competition prize-giving, and the excellent dinner served by the Durban Country Club was just reward for braving the elements earlier.

First Distribution extends a hearty round of thanks to the various sponsors – APC, CommVault, EMC, IBM, Veeam and VMware – for their support as well as to the Veeam girls who braved the pouring rain to give the guys some refreshments on the golf course.

Here’s hoping for drier conditions for next year’s event!
