Commercial Flexibility

We know that being a service provider means flexibility is important, not just in the technology you choose but also the commercial arrangements that surround them.

Signing our Service Provider License Agreement delivers access to the entire Simpana suite, and you don’t have to pay a penny until you start using it. Monthly
reports dictate the billed amount which is based on the size of the data you’re managing; the diagram below shows how this is calculated. In this case, the service provider would pay only for the production data shown in red, which adds up to 5TB of Data Protection Capacity, 1TB of Archive and the archive of 2100 Mailboxes.

This would be the case no matter how much space was taken-up on the service providers protection and archive tier, or relate to its size. Additional copies and retention could still form part of the service charges levied on the end customer even though the service provider has minimal costs. The grey shaded boxes would add zero to CommVault billing regardless of size.

Unique features in Simpana Dedupe such as DASH Full and DASH Copy significantly reduce costs over dedupe hardware. This is of key importance to understanding how cost effective Simpana software really is; deduplication use is unlimited and it can securely sit on any disk, tape or 3rd party Cloud Storage.

On top of the flexibility to grow and shrink on demand, worries over long-term contracts are not an issue either. Service Provider License Agreements require just 30 days notice to exit by which time you must cease using any of the software covered by the agreement. There are two levels of Data Protection capacity at different price points and the agreement also allows you to operate multiple management consoles, allowing you to run dedicated services for individual clients if you want to.
